CSL Behring are constructing Module II of the AlbuRx Facility (Facility A) at Broadmeadows. The objective of the Module II (BACE II) project is to fit-out new clean rooms, process equipment, clean utilities, building services and supporting areas within the existing facility. The scope of the Module II project is to design, construct, qualify, validate, and register Module II to manufacture, fill and finish AlbuRx 5% (50g/L in 250mL or 500 mL bottles), 20% (200 g/L in 50 mL and 100 mL bottles) and 25% (250 g/L in 50 mL and 100 mL bottles) presentations. Module II will be identical to Module I with respect to the bulk manufacture process and will consist of a slurry process, filter press filtration, ultrafiltration / diafiltration and formulation. The fill and finish area consists of vial loading, vial washing, via de-pyrogenation, sterile filtration and filling, stoppering, capping, vial loading, pasteurisation, and incubation. Module II Bulk Manufacture will deliver a capacity of 140 tonnes per annum based on a 24 hours per day, 7 days per week, 45 weeks per year with a cycle time of one batch per train per day.
